The Dignity Program

Our one-of-a-kind community curriculum strengthens the mind, body, and soul to interrupt cycles of poverty.

Education

We’ve partnered with experts, researchers, educational institutions, and community organizations to provide courses in life essentials, personal finance, credit, nutrition, parenting, and stress management. Our residents are granted free access to Emory University Continuing Education.

Volunteering

Each member of the community 16+ contributes a minimum of 4 hours per month to the Dignity Community. Volunteer opportunities include planning community events, helping neighbors with requests, tending the community garden, and so much more.

Community Events & Activities

We encourage resident attendance at community-wide events. These are opportunities to meet neighbors, mingle with staff, and enjoy the benefits of living in relationships with others. Residents lead activities based on interests including book clubs, crafting, fitness classes, and other diverse skills/hobbies.

The Garden

Residents have unrestricted access to reap what they sow in the community garden. Harvesting from the garden is free for residents and surpluses will be sold to those outside of the community at low rates.

Wraparound Services

On-site case workers will help coordinate social services for residents, including applications to government healthcare programs, food stamps, and other resources.

Inter-Faith Counseling

Faith leaders from multiple traditions will make themselves available for counseling, spiritual guidance, and conversation during joyous and difficult occasions.
